U16 Boys - Pip Powell
U16 Girls - Vicki Bingley
Expressions of Interest are now invited for the assistant coach positions in the ACT State teams with the exception of the U16 boy's team.
People who wish to apply for an assistant coach's position should have Level 1 or higher coaching accreditation.
Expressions of Interest should be provided to Alan Bain, Coaching Administrator, at alanbain@webone.com.au by Friday 10 July 2009. Any enquiries please ring Alan on 0411 674 355.

State U16 Boys and Girls Trials Trials for the State U16 Boys were held on 27 and 28 June. Trials for the State U16 Girls were held on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June and will also be held this weekend, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July, from 9:30am to 3:30pm each day.
Any player who is unable to attend the trials and wishes to be considered for selection must advise Alan Bain, Chairman of Selectors - ACT State Teams, in writing at alanbain@webone.com.au

2010 National Events in Canberra
Softball ACT is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the following National Events at the Hawker International Softball Complex early in 2010:
Open Men’s National Championships - 17 – 21 February 2010
Gilley’s Shield Finals - 19 – 21 February 2010
Volunteers will be needed for these events, in the areas of grounds maintenance, organising committee, score board attendees, scorers, spotters and web game play recorders.
If you are interested in being involved in these exciting events, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Please express your interest, along with the position you would like to volunteer for, to the office by email softballact@bigpond.com or phone 6278 3000.
2009 Invitational Team
Congratulations to Sarah Armstrong who has been selected to play in the 2009 Invitational Team to compete at the Challenge Series, 29th July – 2nd August, in Blacktown NSW.
2009 ISF Men's World Championship
Congratulations to Adam Folkard, Jeff Goolagong, Mike Harrow, Andrew Kirkpatrick, Nick Norton, Michael Tanner and Heath Wells who will be joining the Australian Team for the 2009 ISF Men’s World Championship.
The team will leave for Canada on Saturday, 4 July and will play lead-up matches in Milverton, Ontario, before heading to Saskatoon for the Championship to be held from 17 to 26 July. Bob Harrow will be travelling with the team as Head Coach. Administrator - Nominations

Congratulations to Katina Robson
Congratulations to Katina Robson who was a member of the Aussie Spirit team that won the Southern Cross Challenge in Christchurch, New Zealand in April.
The team also won the following 5 game Test Series against the New Zealand Whitesox.
Katina was selected in the Challenge Series All Starts Team as third base player.
Australian Women's Team for the North America and Japan Cup Tours
Congratulations to Brenda de Blaes, Aimee Murch and Clare Warwick who have been selected into the Aussie Spirit team to participate in the Canada Cup - Vancouver, the US World Cup - Oklahoma, and the Exhibition Games - California. The team arrives in Vancouver on 30 June and will leave from Los Angeles on 26 July.
Further congratulations to Katina Robson, Brenda de Blaes and Aimee Murch, who have also been selected for the Aussie Spirit team to participate in the Japan Cup - Toyko, and Exhibition Games, from 28 July to 8 August.
Raffle Draw Date Extended Until 22 November 2009
Due to the poor response to ticket sales for the Softball ACT Raffle, the draw date has been extended to Saturday 22 November 2009.
Those interested in continuing to sell tickets please contact the office.
The offer of retaining 25% of the total ticket sales for your Club, Affiliate or Team will still apply.
Please contact the office regarding amending the draw date on the tickets.

Congratulations to our OPEN MEN'S Team winning the John Reid Shield for the 4th Consecutive Year. Jeff Goolagong winning the MVP Adam Folkard winning the Pitching Award Congratulations to our OPEN WOMEN'S Team coming runners up in the Gilley's Shield after coming 4th in the rounds the girls fought hard through the finals.
