Softball ACT would like to advise that the Annual General Meeting will be held at 7.00pm on Wednesday 24 September 2026 in the Hawker Softball Clubhouse.

Two key items for consideration at the AGM are:

1. Election of 3 Directors; and
2. Voting on 11 motions to amend the Softball ACT constitution.

Election of Directors

Nominations are being called for three (3) Director positions.  The three Director positions will be for a 2 year period.  Nominations are due by 26 August 2026.

To nominate for the Board, please download and complete the Board Director Nomination Form, and email it to: Shaun Carroll at shaun.carroll@softballact.org.au by midnight on Wednesday 26 August 2026.

In accordance with the Constitution of Softball ACT, a nomination form must be signed by two voting members.

Nominees for the SACT Board should possess one or more of the following skills and experience:

·Previous Board/Director

·Financial

·Governance

·Business Acumen

·Strategic Thinking/Planning

·Risk Management

·Policy Development

·Legal

·Government Relations and Lobbying

·Community Engagement

·Marketing

·Public Relations

·Facility Development

Nominees should also posses the following attributes:

·Integrity

·Communication

·Team Player

·Contributor

·Critical Thinking

·Innovative Thinker

·Leadership

Note also that Directors should be independent and cannot also be a Delegate, an employee of SACT or hold an Official Position in any Affiliated Association or Affiliated Club/Team.

Notwithstanding the prevailing criterion requirements noted above, to meet Government requirements, the Board should be composed in a manner such that no one sex accounts for more than 60% of the total number of Directors.  This means that we will need at least 1 male and 1 female member at this election.

Amendments to the Constitution.

Attached are two documents

1. Proposed Changes to the Constitution - outlining the 11 motions to change the constitution; and
2. Revised SACT Constitution_16July2026 (special resolution) - highlighting the proposed changes to the existing constitution

The proposed changes are made to reflect:

• that Softball ACT now operates under a federated model and is no longer part of One Softball; and
• recommendations for State Sporting Organisations from the Australian Sports Commission and the ACT Government Sport and Recreation Department.

Each of the 11 motions will be voted on at the AGM so that the SACT Constitution can be officially updated.
